Allpress Studio: South Sea Supercargo by Nicholas J Boyd

Developed over two decades of experimentation, South Sea Supercargo brings together an eclectic collection of oil paintings and mixed media sculptures. Inspired by time spent living and working in Mexico and Saudi Arabia, the exhibition moves between surrealism, abstraction and sculptural works—each piece part of what Boyd describes as “a one man group show.”​

The title references the role of a supercargo; the person responsible for the cargo aboard a ship. In this case, the cargo is a vessel full of artworks, collected through years of making, refining and exploring.​

Running from 21 July—4 August, join us for the opening night on Friday, 24 July, from 6pm. Enjoy a drink, meet the artist and explore more than 20 works.
