Introduction
At Allpress Espresso, we believe great coffee starts with people.
Our latest special release, Colombia Finca Patio Bonito, comes from Paola and Carlos Trujillo, a father and daughter duo producing exceptional coffees in the hills of Caldono, Cauca, Colombia.
Founded by Carlos Arturo Trujillo nearly 50 years ago, Finca Patio Bonito is a family-run farm built on generations of knowledge, experimentation and care. Today, the farm spans 11 hectares, with 9 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation and approximately 47,000 coffee trees across 13 varietals including Gesha, Pink Bourbon, Sidra, Wush Wush and Pacamara.
Since returning to the farm in 2022, Paola Trujillo has helped lead a new era of innovation at Patio Bonito. Drawing on her experience as a coffee cupper and buyer, she has refined the farm’s washed and natural processing methods using techniques including thermal shock and anaerobic modulation.
Together, Paola and Carlos share an incredible attention to detail and a deep commitment to quality, something that comes through clearly in every cup.
A limited release
We selected a naturally processed Pacamara, a varietal known for its large bean size and exceptional flavour potential. Natural processing in Colombia’s humid climate can be incredibly challenging, requiring carefully selected cherries and constant attention throughout drying.
The result is a coffee that feels vibrant, expressive and elegant.
In the cup, we taste sparkling ume, raspberry sweetness and delicate Earl Grey tea notes with a juicy, layered finish.
What makes this relationship especially meaningful for us is that Patio Bonito’s coffee is already part of the Allpress story. Alongside special microlots like this release, the farm also supplies coffee to Racafé, with coffees from the region contributing to Pescador, an important component of both our Espresso Blend and A.R.T. Blend.
It’s a great example of the balance we’re always working towards at Allpress, celebrating rare and expressive coffees while also building long-term sourcing relationships that help shape the iconic flavour, quality and consistency our blends are known for.
Colombia Finca Patio Bonito is available now in limited quantities, roasted for filter at our new Reservoir roastery in Melbourne.
