This year, the Allpress x HARIO V60 Championship is heading across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the UK, bringing together brewers to put their pour-over skills to the test.


Below are the Full Terms and Conditions for the competition.

Allpress x HARIO V60 Championships 2026 - Terms and Conditions

By registering for the Allpress x HARIO V60 Championships 2026 (the “Competition”), each Competitor agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Judges are not parties to these Terms and Conditions; the Organiser will engage Judges under separate arrangements. The Organiser remains responsible to Competitors for ensuring Judges conduct themselves fairly and in accordance with the Competition Rules.

In these Terms and Conditions, “Organiser” means Allpress Espresso Singapore PTE LTD (UEN 201416040E), and HARIO Asia PTE LTD (UEN 201416771R), severally.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

  • “Competition Rules” – the rules governing the Competition’s format, conduct and judging, including any packs issued under clause 8.1.
  • “Competitor” – a person registered to compete under clause 1.
  • “Event Official” – a person appointed by the Organiser to run the Competition, including the Head Judge and venue staff.
  • “HARIO” – the HARIO brand of equipment and merchandise, not the entity HARIO Asia Pte. Ltd.
  • “Head Judge” – the Judge with overall authority over judging decisions.
  • “Judge” – a person appointed to score Competitors’ brews.
  • “Organiser” – as defined above.
  • “Prize” – the prizes described in clause 5.1.

1.0 Eligibility and Entry

1.1. Competitors must be at least 18 years of age at the date of entry.

1.2. Competitors must hold Singaporean citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa entitling them to work or reside in Singapore at the time of the Competition.

1.3. Competitors must hold a valid passport permitting international travel and, if selected as the overall winner, be available to travel to Tokyo, Japan on the dates agreed under clause 12.1.

1.4. Employees of Allpress Espresso Singapore PTE LTD and HARIO Asia PTE LTD (including their related corporations, as defined in section 6 of the Companies Act 1967), and any agencies associated with the Competition, together with their immediate family members and household members, are ineligible to register for the Competition.

1.5. Registrations will open three weeks prior to each regional competition date, with sixteen (16) Competitor spots available per regional competition, allocated on a first come, first served basis. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a regional competition where reasonably necessary, including where there is insufficient registration for that region. If a regional competition is cancelled under this clause and not rescheduled, affected Competitors will receive a refund of their registration fee in accordance with clause 3, but the Organiser will not otherwise be liable for any loss or expense arising from the cancellation or rescheduling.

1.6. Registration is via the Eventbrite page at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/allpress-x-hario-v60-championships-26-tickets-2001373103829. Competitors will be notified by email at the time of booking and must confirm their participation at least 48 hours before the event. Failure to confirm within this 48-hour period may result in cancellation of the Competitor’s registration. Registrations are personal to the Competitor and are not transferable to any other person.

1.7. Once the sixteen (16) Competitor spots are filled, a waitlist will open for parties who wish to compete. Waitlisted parties will be notified if a Competition spot becomes available. Placement on the waitlist does not guarantee a Competition spot.

1.8. The Organiser reserves the right to make decisions relating to the administration, operation and interpretation of these Terms and Conditions, acting reasonably and in good faith. Except in the case of manifest error, the Organiser’s decisions on such matters are final, and no correspondence will be entered into. For the avoidance of doubt, winners of the Competition are determined solely by reference to the skill-based judging criteria set out in section 8.0, and the outcome of the Competition does not depend on chance.

1.9. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, the Competition format, schedule, venue, judging process or any other aspect of the Competition where reasonably necessary due to operational requirements or circumstances beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control, provided the integrity of the Competition is maintained.

1.10. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse registration to, or disqualify, any Competitor who:

  • breaches these Terms and Conditions;
  • provides false or misleading information;
  • tampers with the Competition process;
  • behaves in an unsafe, abusive, disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner;
  • fails to comply with reasonable directions issued by event officials; or
  • acts in a manner that may bring the Competition, the Organiser or its partners into disrepute.

2.0 Competition Costs

2.1. The registration fee is S$45.00 per Competitor, inclusive of GST.

2.2. Food and beverage will be provided during the event by the venue or other third-party providers, and not by the Organiser. The Organiser is not responsible for food or beverages provided by the venue or any other third party.

2.3. Competitors are provided a goodie bag on arrival.


3.0 Refunds

3.1 - Subject to any rights Competitors may have under applicable consumer protection legislation, registration fees are non-refundable. However, if the Organiser cancels the Competition and does not reschedule it, Competitors will receive a refund of the registration fee paid.


4.0 Dates, Times and Locations

4.1. The Competition will be held on Friday 16 October 2026 at 7:00 pm at Plain Vanilla Serangoon Gardens, 55 Serangoon Garden Way, Singapore 555951.

4.2. The Organiser reserves the right to change competition dates, venues or timings where reasonably necessary.


5.0 Prizes

5.1. Prizes for the Competition are as follows:

1st prize: A S$500 cash Prize, a HARIO product pack valued at approximately S$300, and a trip to Japan comprising reimbursement by HARIO Asia Pte. Ltd. for one return economy airfare up to a maximum value of S$1,200, and a four-day event pass to the World Coffee Championships Tokyo 2027. Accommodation is not included. Refer to section 12.0 for further travel details. The World Coffee Championships Tokyo 2027 is organised by a third party and is not within the Organiser’s control. If the World Coffee Championships Tokyo 2027 is postponed, rescheduled, relocated or cancelled by its organisers, the Organiser will use reasonable endeavours to make an equivalent arrangement for the winner, but is not liable for any loss, cost or expense the winner incurs as a result, and the winner is not entitled to an alternative prize or cash payment in lieu of the event pass.

2nd prize: A S$300 Cash Prize, HARIO product pack valued at approximately $250.

3rd prize: A S$200 Cash Prize, HARIO product pack valued at approximately $150.

5.2. Non-cash Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other form of credit. If a non-cash Prize becomes unavailable, the Organiser may substitute it with a Prize of equal or greater value.

5.3. A winner must claim their Prize within thirty (30) days of being notified that they have won. A Prize not claimed within this period is forfeited.

5.4. As a condition of receiving a Prize, a winner must confirm that they continue to meet the eligibility requirements in clauses 1.1 to 1.4, and must provide the consents referred to in clause 16.

5.5. A winner may decline a Prize by notifying the Organiser in writing. A declined or forfeited Prize will not be awarded to another Competitor.

5.6. Winners are solely responsible for any personal tax liability arising from their receipt of a Prize.


6.0 Competition Rules and Regulations

6.1. Competitors must use the coffee provided by Allpress Espresso Singapore Pte. Ltd. during the Competition. No external coffee may be brought on site.

6.2. Competitors must use the cups provided during the competition and for the presentation. Cups supplied by ACME.

6.3. Competitors must use a genuine HARIO brewer supplied or approved by HARIO for the Competition. Permitted brewers are limited to HARIO V60 Plastic or Ceramic Drippers in sizes 01 or 02, HARIO V60 NEO in sizes 01 or 02, and HARIO Switch Glass or Ceramic brewers in sizes 01 or 02. Brewers must be used in their original HARIO configuration and must not be modified, adapted or fitted with any third-party or non-HARIO components that alter the function or brewing characteristics of the brewer.

6.4. Competitors must use genuine HARIO V60 paper filters in either size 01 or 02. Meteor paper filters are also permitted. All filters will be supplied by HARIO for the Competition.

6.5. Accessories such as decanters, thermometers, sifters, air blowers, WTD tools, spoons and water dispersion aids are allowed.

6.6. Paragon chilling rocks or anything similar is not allowed.

6.7. Competitors may use the HARIO hand grinder supplied by the Organiser or bring their own genuine HARIO manually operated hand grinder, unless otherwise specified for an individual competition round. Non-HARIO grinders and electric grinders are prohibited throughout the Competition.

6.8. Event officials may inspect any equipment before or during the Competition to verify compliance with these Terms and Conditions. A Competitor who refuses an inspection, or whose equipment is found not to comply with these Terms and Conditions, may be disqualified from the Competition immediately.


7.0 Practice Time, Prep Time and Competition Time

7.1. Pre-competition: competitors will not be provided coffee prior to the competition day and the coffee to be used in the competition rounds will not be disclosed prior. Competitors are welcome to purchase coffee from the Allpress Espresso website. A discount code will be provided upon completion of registration.

7.2. On the day preparation: there will be a space allocated for pre-competition practice. During this time competitors may prepare brewing water, sort through and pick coffee beans, weigh out coffee doses and assemble brewer.

7.3. Set up time: Before the competition time starts, competitors will have four (4) minutes to set up their working space. Competitors can use this time to; plug in the kettle, set brewing equipment into place, preheat brewing water in the kettle, add coffee to the grinder and or grind the coffee. Competitors may not rinse the filter or preheat / pre-chill brewers or vessels.

7.4. Competition time: Immediately following the four (4)-minute set-up period in clause 7.3, Competitors will have a further five (5) minutes to prepare their brewed coffee for presentation to the judges. Brewed coffee not presented to the judges within this five-minute period will not be evaluated.

7.5. Any equipment failure determined by the Head Judge to be outside the competitor’s reasonable control may result in additional time or a re-brew at the Organiser’s discretion.


8.0 Scoring and Judging

8.1. The Organiser will make the full rules and regulations available to Competitors at least two (2) weeks before the Competition, as part of their registration pack. Those rules and regulations, together with any technical packs or guidelines subsequently issued by the Organiser, form part of the Competition Rules and are binding on Competitors.

8.2. There will be a panel of Three (3) judges per competition round.

8.3. Each round is judged by blind tasting.

8.4. Competitors’ names are marked on the underside of the ACME cup provided to remain hidden.

8.5. Each judge will receive five (5) coins before the tasting.

8.6. Judges will conduct a blind taste test of each coffee, assessing each brew against the following skill-based criteria: acidity, body, sweetness and tactile qualities. Each judge will evaluate the technical skill demonstrated in the brew as reflected in these sensory attributes.

8.7. After tasting, judges will place their coins in front of the cups they wish to vote for. A maximum of three (3) coins can be placed on a single cup. Judges must place all five coins down each round or group of competitors.

8.8. Each judge arrives at their conclusion independently, without discussion with fellow judges.

8.9. The Head Judge will announce the winner based on the cup receiving the highest number of coins.

8.10. The MC reveals the round winner by lifting the winning cup.

8.11. In the event of a tie, judges will re-taste the tied cups and each judge will receive one additional coin to cast a deciding vote based on their assessment of the skill-based criteria. The cup with the most coins is declared the winner. If a tie persists, the Head Judge will cast the deciding vote.

8.12. The Head Judge’s decision on all judging matters is final.


9.0 Competition Format

9.1. This document sets out the rules for the Singapore Regional round of the Competition. Each regional competition will be structured as follows:

9.1.1. The competition is a structured, multi-round, elimination tournament.

9.1.2. There will be three (3) rounds to the competition. In each round, competitors will have nine (9) minutes to complete the process of preparing, brewing and presenting their coffee.

9.1.3. Each competition round features four (4) competitors brewing coffee simultaneously.

9.1.4. Judges will conduct blind taste tests of each coffee, making a private assessment to determine the best brew each round.

9.1.5. The winners of each round will advance to the next stage.

9.1.6. There will be three (3) competition rounds.

Round One - sixteen (16) competitors, with eight (8) competitors progressing to Round Two.

Round Two – The eight (8) successful competitors from round one will compete and must use the HARIO Hand Grinder supplied by the Organiser. No external grinders will be permitted in this round. Four (4) will progress to Round Three.

Round Three – four (4) competitors, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd being decided by the judges.


10.0 Brewing

10.1. Only ground coffee and water are permitted as ingredients.

10.2. Competitors cannot bring their own water or minerals and must use the water provided.

10.3. A maximum of 21g of ground coffee is allowed in each recipe.

10.4. Competitors must prepare a minimum of 250g of brewed coffee.

10.5. Competitors must not add bypass water of any temperature to their brewed coffee.

10.6. Brewed coffee not presented within the five-minute time limit will not be evaluated.


11.0 Water Regulations

11.1. The water must taste “neutral” and not be noticeably sweetened or adulterated.

11.2. The Head Judge will taste the water and may disallow its use if deemed inappropriately sweetened.

11.3. The use of ice in recipes and any temperature water for bypassing is not permitted.


12.0 Travel

12.1. The V60 Singapore Champion (“Winner”) will receive the travel component of the Prize described in clause 5.1. Travel dates and specific flights must be agreed in advance between the Winner and HARIO Asia Pte. Ltd.

12.2. Any costs not expressly included in the Prize will be the responsibility of the Winner.

12.3. Allpress Espresso Singapore Pte. Ltd. and HARIO Asia Pte. Ltd. strongly recommend that the Winner obtain appropriate travel insurance covering the full period of travel and their stay in Japan.

12.4. The Winner is responsible for ensuring they hold a valid passport, visa and any other documentation required to travel. If the Winner does not hold, or is unable to obtain, the required travel documentation, or is otherwise unable to travel on the dates agreed under clause 12.1, the Winner forfeits their entitlement to the travel component of the Prize and is not entitled to an alternative prize or cash payment in lieu.


13.0 Requirements of Competition Winners

13.1. The Winner must be available to travel on the dates agreed under clause 12.1.

13.2. Competitors acknowledge that photography, videography, live streaming and media coverage may occur throughout the competition.

13.3. Each Competitor grants the Organiser a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use their name, image, likeness, voice and footage of their participation in the Competition, for promotional, editorial and marketing purposes in any media now known or later developed, without payment or other compensation to the Competitor, subject to applicable law. This licence is not affected by a Competitor’s subsequent withdrawal or disqualification from the Competition and does not require the Organiser to remove or amend material already published in reliance on it. The Organiser’s truthful use of material under this clause does not constitute defamation. The Organiser is not obliged to identify or credit any Competitor by name in its use of material under this clause.

13.4. The Japan trip awarded to the Competition Winner is limited to the travel and event components expressly stated in clauses 5.1 and 12.0. Any additional expenses, including accommodation, meals, local transport and personal expenses, will be the Winner’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Organiser.


14.0 Liability

14.1. Competitors participate in the Competition voluntarily and acknowledge that the Competition involves the use of boiling water, heated brewing equipment and other apparatus that carry an inherent risk of injury. Competitors assume this risk and are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health, safety, personal belongings and equipment.

14.2. Competitors must comply with all reasonable health, safety and operational directions issued by the Organiser, event officials and venue staff, and with the venue’s own health and safety rules.

14.3. Subject to clause 14.5 and to the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, the Organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential, arising out of or in connection with:

  • participation in the Competition;
  • acceptance or use of any Prize;
  • travel associated with a Prize;
  • technical malfunctions, delays or failures, including any resulting disruption to the administration, judging or outcome of the Competition;
  • inaccurate, incomplete or incorrectly communicated information resulting from a technical or administrative error;
  • theft, loss of or damage to personal belongings or equipment;
  • unauthorised access or third-party interference;
  • loss of or damage to entries, Prize claims or Prizes;
  • circumstances beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control; or
  • changes imposed by airlines, accommodation providers, venues or government authorities.

14.4. A Competitor indemnifies the Organiser against any loss, damage, cost, expense or liability the Organiser incurs as a result of that Competitor’s breach of these Terms and Conditions, or that Competitor’s negligence, wilful misconduct or failure to comply with a reasonable direction issued by the Organiser, an event official or venue staff.

14.5. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Singapore law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by the Organiser’s negligence.

14.6. Subject to clause 14.5, the Organiser’s total aggregate liability to a Competitor arising out of or in connection with the Competition, however arising, is limited to the registration fee paid by that Competitor or, in the case of a Prize winner, the value of the Prize awarded to that Competitor, whichever is greater.

14.7. Subject to clause 14.5, any claim by a Competitor against the Organiser arising out of or in connection with the Competition must be brought within three (3) months of the date of the Competition, failing which the claim is barred.


15.0 - Social media platforms

Where the Competition is promoted or administered through Meta, Instagram or another social media platform, Competitors:

  1. agree to comply with the platform’s applicable terms of use;
  2. release the platform from claims arising from the Competition; and
  3. acknowledge that the Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or affiliated with, the platform.

To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser is not responsible for any loss or damage arising from material or comments independently published by third parties on any social media platform in connection with the Competition.

Competitors must not use the Organiser’s, Allpress’s or HARIO’s names, logos, trade marks or branding for any commercial purpose, or in a manner suggesting sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation, without the Organiser’s prior written consent. Competitors must not make, publish or authorise any statement that disparages the Organiser, the Competition, HARIO or the venue. Competitors and third parties must not organise or participate in any unauthorised competing promotion, sponsorship or marketing activity that seeks to associate itself with, or trade off the goodwill of, the Competition without the Organiser’s prior written consent.


16.0 - Privacy

16.1. By registering for the Competition, Competitors consent to receiving communications relating to the administration of the Competition.

16.2. In addition, to facilitate travel arrangements, winners may be required to provide personal information including:

  • passport details required for international flight bookings;
  • date of birth;
  • contact information;
  • emergency contact details;
  • dietary requirements; and
  • any information reasonably required to administer the Prize.

A winner who provides emergency contact details confirms that they have informed the relevant person and obtained their consent to provide their personal information to the Organiser.

16.3. Winners also consent to the use of photographs, video footage or interview content captured during the trip for the Organiser’s promotional, editorial and marketing purposes, consistent with clause 13.3.

16.4. The Organiser may collect Competitors’ personal information directly or through its agents or contractors. The Organiser will use Competitors’ personal information to conduct and manage the Competition in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). The Organiser may disclose Competitors’ personal information to its related companies, agents, contractors and travel providers to assist in conducting the Competition, communicating with Competitors, administering Prizes or storing data. Where personal information is disclosed to organisations outside Singapore, the Organiser will take reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient provides a standard of protection comparable to that required under the PDPA.

16.5. The Organiser may contact Competitors for future marketing purposes where they have separately consented to receiving such communications. Competitors may withdraw their consent at any time using the unsubscribe facility provided. Marketing communications will be sent in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, including its Do Not Call provisions, and the Spam Control Act 2007.

16.6. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Organiser’s privacy policies, including:

17.0 General

17.1. Force Majeure. If the Organiser is unable to perform its obligations in connection with the Competition, in whole or in part, due to a cause beyond its reasonable control (including natural disaster, extreme weather, fire, pandemic or other public health emergency, war, civil unrest, act of government, strike or industrial action, or failure of a venue or third-party supplier), the Organiser may cancel, terminate, modify, postpone or suspend the Competition, and will not be liable for any resulting loss or expense, other than to refund registration fees as set out in clause 3.

17.2. Governing Law and Jurisdiction. These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Competition or these Terms and Conditions, are governed by the laws of Singapore. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

17.3. Entire Agreement. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Organiser and each Competitor in relation to the Competition, and supersede all prior discussions, understandings and representations on that subject.

17.4. Severability. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17.5. Third Party Rights. A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions.

17.6. Notices. Any notice to the Organiser under these Terms and Conditions must be given in writing to Allpress Espresso Singapore Pte. Ltd., 28 Zion Road, Singapore 247768, or to coffee@allpress.com.sg. Notices are taken to be received on the day of sending, if sent during business hours, or on the next business day otherwise.

17.7. Non-Waiver. A failure or delay by the Organiser in exercising any right under these Terms and Conditions does not operate as a waiver of that right, and a single or partial exercise of a right does not prevent any further exercise of that or another right.

17.8. Novation. The Organiser may novate or assign its rights and obligations under these Terms and Conditions to a related corporation, or in connection with a sale or transfer of its business, without the consent of Competitors, provided that the Organiser ensures the assignee assumes the Organiser’s obligations to Competitors under these Terms and Conditions.1.9. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, the Competition format, schedule, venue, judging process or any other aspect of the Competition where reasonably necessary due to operational requirements or circumstances beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control, provided the integrity of the Competition is maintained.
