Timeless Design with Service Projects

There’s a certain satisfaction in using something every day that’s been designed with intention.

We’ve found that we appreciate these everyday objects more and more as they earn their place as our go-to favourites.

That appreciation is what brought us together with Service Projects.
Founded in New York in 2022 and later relocating to Copenhagen, Service Projects began with a simple observation: stainless steel cookware and tableware had long existed in professional kitchens but rarely made its way into homes.

I spent time with friends working as chefs, and they always used stainless steel for its functionality and durability,” Philip, Service Projects Founder, explains. “But I’d never really seen stainless steel tableware in private homes.

That thinking became the foundation of Service Projects: industrial, highly functional tableware designed with longevity in mind. While the brand has since expanded into different materials and forms, the philosophy remains unchanged.

For our collaboration, we selected two pieces that feel particularly at home within our cafés and our home kitchens: the Marlow cup and saucer, and the Arlo 03.

The Marlow is the quintessential coffee cup. Inspired by the coffee cultures of southern Europe, Philip wanted to preserve the small details that make café experiences feel timeless, including the perfectly-matched saucer.

I've travelled to the southern part of Europe quite a lot, and the coffee culture there is so strong, and so different from what we've seen in the north these past years. Fewer places were using saucers, because it's simply cheaper not to manufacture them, but we really appreciate the cultural aspect of it.

Alongside the Marlow sits the Arlo 03, a versatile piece designed for slower coffees and longer moments. We’ve found the weighty cup perfect for our morning filter brews. For us, this collaboration is an incredible fit, blending thoughtful design and lasting quality. These are pieces designed to elevate the everyday, whether it’s a quick morning espresso or a slower coffee shared around the table.

While Denmark’s coffee culture has become known for exceptional filter and milk-based drinks, when we asked Philip what his morning coffee routine is, he’s something of a purist.

My coffee ritual is quite simple,” he says. “I wake up and make myself a double espresso. After my morning walk with my dog to the office, I get another espresso.

The Service Projects x Allpress Marlow and Arlo 03 cups are available now in the UK, JP, and NZ, in limited quantities.
