An exciting, washed lot from DR Congo – a complex and super clean cup.
It’s been four years since we last released a Congolese coffee at Allpress. They’re not easy to come by due to severe logistical challenges, high export taxes, and regional conflict.
Virunga Coffee Company has sought to overcome many of these problems through investment in local infrastructure such as roads and bridges. This has allowed quality improvements every season and, in turn, higher premiums for farmers.

Kisunga Coffee Washing Station is one of 9 washing stations belonging to Virunga Coffee Company. Setup by Schluter (now Covoya) in 2012, these stations produce high-quality coffees for the specialty market and increase premiums for the thousands of smallholder farmers in the region.
